About the club
The Inner Wheel Club of Ashby de la Zouch was formed in 1967, originally for the friendship and mutual support of the wives of Rotarians. In 2017 we celebrated our 50th year.
Inner Wheel soon grew to incorporate service in the wider community and is now the largest women’s service organisation in the country. The Ashby club is proud to be a part of this.
Membership categories have also expanded in recent times, first to include the wider families of Rotarians and in 2012 to any woman who espouses the ideals for which Inner Wheel stands. Our own club has been happy to welcome two women to our number who have no Rotary connection.
We meet once a month for a lovely meal at the Hollybush Inn at Breedon on the Hill, followed by our meeting and socialising, often entertained by a speaker.
In addition we have about eighty social, fundraising and service (often combined!) events each year. Responsibility for organising these is shared by everyone through each member being on one of four committees taking two events each. This way, we hope all members will feel to be an integral part of their club.
If you are inspired to visit us at one of our meetings with no obligation, please ring our Secretary Shân on 01530 416500 or Patricia on 01530 415041.
